A guayabera shirt is a summer shirt, originally Caribbean in origin (but perhaps also from the Philippines, though debatable), that has multiple pockets for holding…guavas. Typically the shirts have vertical pleats or adornments to make the functionally sound garment more formal, but we’ve chosen to leave that part to the Caribbean countries that do it best.

The one seen here is 100% linen and features more than a handful of pockets. The camp collar is not banded and lays well to the clavicle and the gussets are split for comfort. The buttons are sizable, creating a more sporty front, and we designed this one with long sleeves to keep the wearer a tiny bit warmer on cool summer nights.

Distinctly seasonal shirts like this are optimal. They let everyone know you commissioned this piece specifically for a climate. It is purposeful and it is practical. While we can make them out of tweed to linens to blends and everything in between, if you don’t already have one in your closet we suggest starting with a white, 100% linen guayabera.
