We are looking for a shop assistant to help with day-to-day tasks 2 - 3 days per week for 12 - 15 hours.  Shop assistant must be a people person, take direction, is motivated to complete any sized task, can lift heavy boxes (up to ~40 lbs), and have a valid driver’s license.  It’s a plus if you can sew buttons and possess other sewing skills.  Retail & operations experience is a plus but not required.  Oh, and you must like dogs, specifically our dog Penelope who comes with us to the shop most days.  

Shop assistant duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

Garments — We fit, design and produce over 2,800 garments a year and keeping an organized system is paramount.

• Unbox, hang, steam, untack and alphabetize garments.

• Organize garments for second fittings and pick ups for the day/week.

• Box or bag garments to be shipped; deliver to local freight store.

Inventory — Not all of our products are custom made to order.

• Manage and organize hanger, garment bag and shopping bag supplies.

• Organize and arrange back stock of accessories.

• General inventory management.

Clients — We’ve had over 4500 clients come through our door over the years.

• As necessary, assist in greeting clients and with the flow of appointments.

Fabrics — Collections come from fabric mills the world over. 

• Check in-stock fabrics with QR codes.

• Monthly stock check with CMT providers.

Store — It’s both a retail space and our home.

• General picking up and cleaning of the space.

• Making sure the store’s facility’s are kept up; trash disposal, dishes, hand towels etc.
